NEW FACILITIES OPEN HOUSE DURING IMTS, SEPTEMBER 12 & 13
Features Tour of New Demo Center
Bourn & Koch will host an open house Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13 from 10 am until 4 pm during IMTS 2008 in Chicago. A tour of the new 27,700 square foot engineering center and office building and the new 800 square foot demonstration center at its Kishwaukee Street site in Rockford, IL. Food and refreshments will be served.

Bourn & Koch New 400H CNC (7) Axis Horizontal Hobber at IMTS 2008
Bourn & Koch will exhibited the 400H CNC 7 axis extended bed horizontal gear hobbing machine at the IMTS 2008.

Bourn & Koch Ships Extended Bed 600H CNC (6) Axis Horizontal Hobbing Machines
Bourn & Koch has shipped (4) new extended bed 600H CNC (6) Axis Horizontal Hobbing Machines for domestic and international customers. Delivery began in September 2007 and was completed in March of 2008. These machines are designed to accommodate shaft parts, respectively, of 100", 148", 180" and 280". Machines are equipped, depending on the customer, with full enclosures, partial enclosure, or traveling controls with a traveling splash screen. Machines for applications to 550" (14 meters) length have been engineered.
Bourn & Koch Delivers (2) New Fellows HS1280-300 Hydrostroke Gear Shapers
Bourn & Koch has shipped two of the new HS1280-300 Hydrostroke Gear Shapers, the new design replacing the old 50-8 and FS1270-300 designs.
What makes the clever electro-mechanical HS design of interest to users around the world for machines in the 50"-60" (1280 - 1500 mm) size range is not only the improvement of the heart of the Hydrostroke principle, but the 50% reduction in the number of piece parts previously used in the FS design series.
Key electro-mechanical design features that give the HS1280-300 machine a shaping advantage over the legacy 50-8's are:
- Elevating cutter slide for vertical positioning - 300 mm travel
- 12" (300 mm) face width cutting capability
- CNC servo backoff
- Direct drive cutter and workspindles, no gear drives
- Oriented Stiffness Back-Off
- GE Fanuc 30iB CNC control with PC front end and touch screen
- New HPU with sound enclosure
